Basic analytics on all plans. 90-day retention on Starter, 12-month on Pro, 36-month on Business.

Every scan of your QR code is recorded with rich metadata. The analytics dashboard gives you a complete picture of who is scanning, where they are, what device they are using, and which channel sent them.

What data is recorded per scan

For every scan, Stirling-QR records: timestamp (in your local timezone), country, city, device type (Mobile/Tablet/Desktop), operating system, browser, referrer URL (the website or app the scanner was using), and if A/B testing is active β€” which variant destination was shown.

Where to find analytics

Go to Dashboard β†’ click on any QR code. The analytics page shows a scan timeline chart, device breakdown pie chart, top countries bar chart, top cities, browser distribution, OS distribution, and a Recent Scans table with the last 50 scans.

A/B variant performance

If split testing is enabled, a Variant breakdown chart shows how many scans each destination received. Use this to identify the winning landing page β€” then update both variants to the winner without reprinting.

Exporting analytics

Download a PDF analytics report from the QR code detail page. The report includes all charts and a scan summary. Raw scan data (up to 2,000 rows) can also be exported as CSV from the analytics page.

Privacy

No personally identifiable information (PII) is ever stored. The analytics data contains device and location metadata only β€” no names, email addresses, or user accounts.

πŸ’‘ Pro Tips

  • Referrer tracking is especially useful for understanding which social media post, email, or webpage drove your scan traffic.
  • Use the device breakdown to optimise your landing page β€” if 80% of scanners are on mobile, your destination should be mobile-first.
